Head Chef/Kitchen Manager – Stewarts Christchurch

An 8th Generation business that knows about plants and everything about gardening. It’s our passion! But we also love good food – homemade, locally sourced or home reared, fresh and seasonal.

Catering is a very important part of our business and we are always looking for foodies to join our team at our Coffee Shop. We pride ourselves on the high quality food and service we offer together with a fun and happy atmosphere.

We are on the look out for a Head Chef/Kitchen Manager who loves their food and would like to help us produce outstanding quality for our customers. As a Head Chef/Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for producing lovely meals and also running the team in the kitchen. Qualification in Catering is essential and experience in a similar business would be a distinctive advantage.

The vacancy involves working Mondays to Fridays and alternate weekends with a fixed day off during the week working from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include late night Thursdays until 8:00 p.m. on a rota basis.

Kitchen Assistant – Stewarts Christchurch

We are very proud of the food we offer here at Stewarts. With our food preparation facilities we are able to prepare fresh, locally sourced produce to make good quality food for our customers. Not surprisingly we are becoming increasingly busy.

We are on the lookout for a Kitchen and Food Preparation Assistant to join our team working alongside our Chefs in our busy Coffee Shop at Christchurch.

No previous experience is required as training will be provided, however a passion for food is a must! Initially based on salad and sandwich preparation, this role can evolve and lead to additional training in order to assist the chefs on the preparation and service of lunch meals also.

We have flexible shift patterns available, working between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on a flexible rota basis.

Coffee Shop Assistants – Stewarts Christchurch

We are on the look out for warm outgoing people to join our Coffee Shop team in Edwards Coffee Shop. We aim to provide an outstanding experience for our visitors and need people who can contribute to making their visit exceptional. We work hard to make working here pleasurable, but our Coffee Shop is a fast paced and busy environment so you will be kept busy most of the time.

Duties will include dealing with customers face to face throughout the day either serving food, cakes, preparing hot drinks as well as operation of tills and clearing tables.

Applicants should possess good communication, team working and customer service skills as well as having a good level of health and safety/hygiene knowledge. Previous catering experience in a similar environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.

We have vacancies available for an average of 24 to 30 hours per week to include one or two shifts over the weekend and alternate weekends off.

Furniture & Outdoor Living Sales Assistant (Sundays) – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

We are seeking to recruit a sales assistant to join our Garden Furniture/Outdoor Living team at Stewarts Broomhill on Sundays.

Duties will include general customer advice together with some merchandising and assembly of products. Applicants should possess good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team delivering a high level of customer service. Previous retail experience in a similar role is desirable. Please note that some heavy lifting may be involved.

The job involves working every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 30 minutes break.

Furniture & Christmas Department Manager – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

We are seeking to recruit a  Manager for our Furniture & Christmas Departments at Stewarts Broomhill.

You will be responsible for managing the smooth running of  both these departments during their seasonality, including help choose the range for each season, merchandising, identify opportunities to increase sales, ensure display presentation, pricing and signage are inspirational and to Stewarts’ high standards, organise and manage stocktake, stock turnover, markdowns and wastage and deal with the hiring, managing and deploying of staff within these departments.

Applicants should possess excellent communication and people skills and enjoy working as part of a team, delivering a high level of customer service. Previous experience in a manager or supervisor role is essential as well as an interest in progressing within the business.

The job involves working the following days/hours:

Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with a day off during the week.
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays with 1 hour unpaid break and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with 30 minutes unpaid break – Average of 39 ½ hours per week.
