Cook (Maternity Cover) – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

An 8th Generation business that knows about plants and everything about gardening. It’s our passion! But we also love good food – homemade, locally sourced or home reared, fresh and seasonal.

Catering is a very important part of our business and we are looking for an extra member of staff who would like to help us produce outstanding quality food for our customers for a fixed-term period from mid September for a period of 9 to 12 months to cover our Cook who is going on maternity leave soon.

Experience in a similar business and relevant catering, heath & hygiene training would be a distinct advantage.

The vacancy involves working an average of 40 hours per week working Mondays to Fridays and alternate weekends with a fixed day off during the week (Mondays), working from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays with 30 minutes unpaid break each day.

Coffee Shop Assistants – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

We are on the look out for warm outgoing people to join our coffee shop team at Stewarts Broomhill.
We aim to provide an outstanding experience for our visitors and need people who can contribute to making their visit exceptional. We work hard to make working here pleasurable, but we cannot deny that you will be kept busy most of the time.

Duties will include counter service, operation of tills, clearing tables and assisting with basic food preparation. Applicants should possess good communication, team working and customer service skills as well as having a good level of health and safety/hygiene knowledge. Previous catering experience in a similar environment would definitely be an advantage. Please note own transport is essential due to our countryside location.

We have 2 vacancies to cover the following shifts:

Vacancy 1 – 23.5 hours over 2 weeks working the following days/hours:
Week 1 – Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Week 2 – Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Vacancy 2 – 22 hours over 2 weeks working the following days/hours:
Week 1 – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Week 2 – Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Customer Services Supervisor – Stewarts Christchurch

Stewarts is a thriving independent Garden Centre that prides itself in providing excellent customer service in a family friendly environment. We provide customers with an expansive choice of products sourced from the best suppliers to provide quality and value.

An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at Stewarts Christchurch assisting in the management of our customer service team. Duties will include daily set up and closing of the tills, reception and cash office, providing quality efficient service to our customers.

The candidate will also be responsible for completing reconciliation of daily takings including banking and input of figures onto daily cash sheet and processing gift cards/vouchers. Applicants must be computer literate with a good knowledge of Excel and have experience leading a team of people alongside previous
experience of cash handling procedures. The post will cover duties on our customer service desk, tills and cash office. Candidates will be expected to supervise and manage the team in support of department manager.

The job involves working the following days/hours: Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with a day off during the week, to also include late night Thursdays on a rota basis – 40 hours average per week.

Labourer – Garden Construction – Stewarts Landscaping (Wimborne)

Stewarts are a family run business specialising in designing and building quality gardens. We are seeking to recruit a permanent labourer to join the team. The candidate must have good previous labouring experience to apply for this position and references will be required.

You will be responsible to the lead hand on each project and will be expected to do a reasonable amount of manual handling to include preparation of site, excavating, wheelbarrowing, carrying of materials, mixing of mortars along with possible assistance with patio laying, fencing, block paving and turf laying etc and other general labouring duties.

A smart appearance will be expected (uniform is provided) along with a commitment to working safely and in a tidy manner.

Full driving licence is essential. Trailer licence (Category B + E or C + E) would be an advantage.

The package includes working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 30 minutes unpaid break each day, a salary of £18,200 to £21,000 per annum depending on skill experience/years in field and 28 days holiday after probationary period.

Construction Landscaper – Stewarts Landscaping (Wimborne)

Stewarts are a family run business specialising in designing and building quality gardens. We are seeking to recruit a permanent skilled and experienced person to join the team. The candidate must have previous experience in the hard landscaping trade along with technical knowledge.

1. You must have experience in laying foundations/bases, paving, decking and brickwork and be able to carry out small carpentry projects such as installing pergolas and fencing.
2. You must be able to provide some examples of your work and workmanship.
3. You must have good communication skills with both clients and colleagues and be able to carry out all works independently or in a small team, along with taking instructions from your team leader.
4. You must be able to assist with organisation of materials and be able to work to deadlines.
5. A smart appearance will be expected (uniform is provided) along with a commitment to working safely and in a tidy manner.
6. This position requires a flexible team player with a positive attitude who is organised, friendly and happy to be an ambassador for the company.
7. Full driving licence is essential. Trailer licence (Category B + E or C + E) would be an advantage as would be an excavator licence.

The package includes working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 30 minutes unpaid break each day, a salary of £24,000 per annum and 28 days holiday after probationary period.
