Plantsman Gardener – Stewarts Landscaping (Wimborne)

We run a team of skilled gardeners who carry out grounds maintenance of prestigious commercial and private grounds and gardens, large and small. We are looking for a strong, self-motivated and organised person to join our team.

There is a high demand in caring for more complicated gardens and this is where your talents will be required. In recent years we are finding that many of the gardens that clients wish us to look after have many varieties of plants, including a wide variety of herbaceous perennials and shrubs and the odd exotics.

Your skills will therefore require proven delivery of high-quality horticultural maintenance. You must be capable and confident of managing and developing complicated gardens along with an eye for detail. You must be able to demonstrate excellent seasonal horticultural practices, species-specific pruning techniques and the ability to manage the gardens all year round. Applicants must be competent with the operation and basic maintenance of a wide range of garden machinery.

The candidate must have a full driving licence. Trailer licence (Category B + E) and current pesticide spraying certificate would be desirable and references will be required.

The job will involve working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with earlier starts required during some seasons.

In return, we offer staff discount in the garden centres after probationary period, contributory pension scheme, uniform, free parking for your own car and a salary of between £21,000 and £24,000 depending on experience.
