Staff and customers at the Stewarts Garden Centres in Christchurch raised over £10,000 for the Bournemouth Hospital Charity. The sum was raised over the last 12 months during seasonal events, collections and competitions created by the centre’s staff, and strongly supported by their customers.
Terry Head, Retail and Marketing Director at Stewarts, presented the cheque for £10,700.86p to Maria Tidy, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at the Bournemouth Hospital Charity. A selection of plants was also donated to help the planting of the Therapeutic Courtyard Garden located directly outside of the chemotherapy suite and next to the Pathology department where patents wait for blood tests. A peaceful area with seating, climbing plants and canopies is planned so that patients can enjoy the garden throughout the year.
“We are very grateful to the team, and the generosity of the Stewarts customers who donated. The money will go towards making the patient experience the best it can be by buying extra and better equipment, comfort items and staff training not provided by the NHS.” said Maria Tidy.
